VRIJ coffeebar
A lunchroom built from shipping containers
In the autumn of 2022, a lunchroom made of converted shipping containers that previously travelled all over the world, opened its doors on a grassy lawn opposite Leiden Hogeschool. With a nice lookout over the water with the ditches of the universities Living Lab and a co-creation space on the second floor, this is a welcome addition to the LBSP.
Location
Duurzaam
Not only is the exterior of VRIJ made of recycled material. The furniture in the coffee bar is also all second-hand. In this way, the entrepreneurs want to contribute to a more sustainable world. This is also reflected in the menu, which only contains vegetarian dishes.
Vogelnest
On the second floor, there will be an extra surprise in the spring of 2023: Het Vogelnest (The Bird's Nest). In this space of 30 m2 with a flexible layout and a private terrace, employees from the area can do brainstorming sessions, co-creations and team meetings. The room can accommodate 16 people and is equipped with its own entrance and toilet.
